"Sisterhood is many things. It's a warm smile on a cold and rainy day, a friendly hug, a cheerful hello… It's all that a good and lasting friendship is, only better. It's treasured. It's sacred. It's Knowing that there will always be someone there for you. It's dreams shared, and goals achieved. It's counting on others and being counted on. It is real."

A DG doing good...

Do you believe in karma? I’m not sure if I do, but I just might…

When I heard about the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day walk, I thought, I’ve been fortunate enough to have not been affected by Breast Cancer, but earning good cancer karma, and raising money to help others – what a great idea!

I signed up, started Team “We Pop Tents”, and was soon recruiting my first teammate, my big sis, Erin. We are both alumni members of the Epsilon Sigma chapter at San Diego State University, and have been tirelessly enlisting the help of our friends, family, and DG sisters to help fundraise for the cause.

We will walk 60 miles over the course of 3 days, and raise a minimum of $2,200 each! I have to admit, I’m still a bit overwhelmed by all of this, but I just keep thinking, if it gets us just one step closer to curing Breast Cancer, it Megan Gonzalez & Big Sis Erin Epsilon Sigma, San Diego State must be worth it! If we can save the 200,000 American women that will be diagnosed this year, or the 40,000 that will die from the disease this year, walking 60 miles is more than worth it!
